I am going to talk about three Liberation War Bengali movies of last seven years. This is not a top three chart.

For the different purpose, you must watch these three Liberation War Bengali movies. You will find an artistic composition of history and fantasy in these three movies.

03. Shongram 2014

The film is based on 1971 revolutionary independence war of Bangladesh. Karim Uddin an ailing British-Bangladeshi Muslim man.

On his hospital deathbed Karim Uddin recalls , recounts and shares his horrific experiences during the Liberation War with Sarah. A daring British Journalist in London. The story focuses on flashback scenes of the war from young Karim’s perspective. He falls in love with a beautiful Hindu women Asha.

Munsur Ali and Billy Mackinnon wrote the screenplay. Shongram is directed and produced by Munsur Ali himself.Stars Anupam Kher, Asia Argtoen, Amaan Reza and Dilruba Yasmeen Ruhee, Arman Parvez Murad and Ananta Hira Played different characters.

Liberation War Bengali movies may not be like visual documents of the war. If you just take a look on Humayun Ahmed’s Aguner Poroshmoni. You may find a little bit romanticism In the movie. Cinema is an art. And art is Free from anything.

02 .Meherjaan 2011

One of the most Featured director Rubaiyat Hossain directed this movie.Meherjaan is a kind of fantasy film.The discomfort about the portrayal of a raped woman was turned faded across the love story.That was claimed.

The time period is about the  Liberation War but the story is different. There was a family, some peoples and it was their stories.

In International film festivals and competitions, this film wins a handful of awards.Best Critic Award in Jaipur International Film Festival.

Orson Wells Award in Tiburon International Film Festival.Jury Award and Audience Award in Northampton International Film Festival was notable achievements of This movie.

Meherjaan is written and directed by the young, creative, beautiful and dynamic Director Rubaiyat Hossain herself.

Bhuban Majhi 2017

Vuban Majhi is written by Fakhrul Arefeen Khan
Borkot Ullah Maruf.Fakhrul Arefeen Khan directed and produced the movie.

Vuban Majhi is one of the most successful movie among liberation war Bengali movies. Stars Parambrata Chatterjee, Aparna Ghosh , Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, Mamunur Rashid palyed different characters in this movie.

This is the only movie that presents the strong mental support and inspiration of a girl.That silently let’s us know the mental contribution of women behind the victory.
