JKKNIU film and Photography Club
Film and Photography Club JKKNIU shows & glorifies the beauty of life through the practice of films & Photography. They believe in revolution by practicing finest art forms . This spiritual revolution grows more humanitarian evolvement in a human being. JKKNIU film and Photography Club have crossed 13 years of their glorified journey. From the very beginning to now they are doing dynamic activities over and out of the campus. The journey started with a photo walk and now the club is producing even distributing high profile film productions. They are supporting the industry by supporting art ,culture and social development.
Road to JKKNIU film and Photography Club
This club’s moto is to find out the greatest aspect of life in art. Fazle Hasan Shishir an ex student of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University with some fellows of the same mentality formed the foundation of the club. They opened the lead with a small idea 13 years back and they are exploring day by day. photography, photo exhibition , film making, film projection, workshop and what’s not? they are arranging all kind of film and photography related activities over the year in the campus premises . Even at the time of pandemic they continued their activities online.
Club photo walk
This is the most interesting, effective and regular activities for the club members of JKKNIU film and Photography Club. This practice started from the beginning to the contemporary days. In a photo walk club member get together somewhere in the campus and start walking and capturing photographs around. after a certain time they come back to the same point where they started . In this process they capture almost same subject from different perspective. They discuss about the artistic and technical things about photography and build their photo stories. Because of the geographical state the Campus area is beautiful and has diversities in different seasons and times of the day. So club members can do their practice over the year in different natural psycho-natural circumstances.
Workshop , Exhibition, Screening
JKKNIU film and Photography Club arranged indoor and outdoor photographic workshop, exhibition and screening in different times. With the collaboration of club members, dedicated volunteers , students and teachers this club made incredible reputation in last 13 years. Including special day’s special season the Club managed a close connection with art culture practicing personnel and organization through unofficial workshops and film discussions. They are strongly working on film projections and film festival to encourage young filmmakers over the country and abroad.
Recent Activities
This time club members are busy with victory day special short film production. Five student directors from the Film studies department are directing five films. All the films are making by one single shot (Mise-en-scene). Meanwhile they are arranging the audition season for an independent feature film “Hridoyeshwari” by Touhid Ashraf. By the end of the month club will be screening Rashid Palash‘s Film “Padmapuran.”
